About KITE

Our Story

Established in 2016 by founder Chrissy, KITE grew alongside her metalsmithing skills and customer demands. Chrissy is inspired by the endless possibilities in jewelry design and believes jewelry is more than shiny objects- they hold memories and tell stories, and are a tangible way to keep them close to your heart.

Chrissy is often asked the meaning behind the name "KITE". To many, the kite represents freedom, joy, good luck and the ability to reach higher. She feels your jewelry should give you that same sense of freedom and joy to express your true self.

Our Process

Our jewelry is thoughtfully designed with form, versatility and quality in mind. We create jewelry that blends elements of traditional and contemporary design that can be worn wherever life takes you. Often inspired by nature, our jewelry has a timeless quality that transcends trends and seasons. Each piece is meticulously crafted with care and attention to the smallest details and doubly checked to ensure the highest quality before it is sent to you.

We adhere to and are audited by third party global standards that monitor ethical, social, human rights and environmental practices. Our jewelry is made with 100% certified recycled silver, gold and ethically sourced gemstones. In addition to locally crafted, made to order pieces from our Calgary based studio, our production partners and materials providers in USA, Italy and China are certified Responsible Jewellery Council members and ISO 9001 certified. We only produce what is needed and in small batches to prevent over production and product waste. All packaging materials are either Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified, recyclable and/or compostable to reduce our impact on the environment. In addition, we continually strive to affect positive change in our community and give back whenever possible through donations to local charities annually.
